Midnight Resistance is a german band, founded in 2008 by Nicolay Frank. After leaving his former bands, he decided to found a solo project to realize his musical visions, and now uses his skills to produce Midnight Resistance on his own.
His music merges different styles, electronic soundscapes with a blend of guitars, danceable and atmospheric, paired with emotional songwriting, to create a collection of innovative and unique songs.
Since the end of 2007, the lineup has consisted of Gorden (Guitars) and Greg (Synthesizers).
Shortly after he was signed to the american cult label A Different Drum and in 2008 his self-produced debut-album “Remote” saw the light of day.
It immediately gained attention, which became obvious through acclaimed reviews as well as satisfying the audience all around the world.
Midnight Resistance as a live experience on stage was accompanied by guitars from the beginning, as a perfect match to the synthesizer-laden sound. Midnight Resistance will also contribute songs to different compilations, as well as doing remixes and other productions in their Black Mirror Studio.
With a simple thought: “If you don’t go forwards you go backwards” , the band evolved more and more into a new musical approach during the writing of the new record. An improvement of Midnight Resistance´s known soundscapes and electronics with a more guitar-driven appearance and Nico´s distinctive voice.
2011 saw the release of the new single “Living a Lie”, a harbinger of the upcoming album.
In the beginning of 2012 Midnight Resistance has changed their label and joined Farscape-Records, to release their second album there. Nico finally released, in 2012, the new, highly anticipated album “The Mirror Cage” and with a new band-lineup as well to rock the stages again.
